Hi there, my name is Suzy Buckle and I have always been interested in vintage and second hand curtains and accessories. I set up my own business back in 1994 after the birth of my son Jonathan after reading an article in one of the weekend magazines. I started by selling second hand designer curtains and soft furnishings from a shop called Curtain Connection on London Road in St Albans. We closed the shop in 2002 and changed our focus to selling through other shops, like the Ampthill Antiques Emporium for instance and online.
I began seriously buying vintage clothes and accessories back in 2007 and this now has become a real focus of my business alongside the curtains. I love and wear a lot of vintage dresses, tops and skirts, accessories and jewellery as does my daughter Jessica. The only way I could do this, and keep the peace at home with my partner (now known to all those of you who follow our Facebook Page as Mr DV!) before the house became overflowing, was to start selling some of the many items I had found or bought over a long period of time and so Divinely Vintage was born!
One of my personal highlights so far was being part of the Vintage Festival on Southbank in 2011, which was just so much fun! We are actually on the video but only for about a millisecond at about 1.08 minutes in!!!
