Wooden pot with carved crocodile cover. Belonged traditionally to
a wedding dowry for young couple in Bali.
It is an intricately carved Vanity pot to store rice. It is believed there will be always rice in the house as long as there is even a few grains in the bowl.
The crocodiles on top of the cover are guarding the rice
The piece is approximately 60 years old and is hand carved. The body of the storage container feauters 4 Balinese dancers.
It is carved from two halfes of a tree trunk and hand painted. The finish is Bees wax.

The piece is in excellent condition.
